SOAPSTONE FIREBRICK

Soapstone firebricks exceed standard specification for firebox brick and residential fireplaces. 2½ inches is the minimum thickness recommended for an operating wood burning fireplace. For a decorative or gas fired fireplace 1¼ inch bricks can be used. There is no better material for the absorption and retention of heat. Soapstone is non flammable, won’t stain like marble and granite, will not stain or trap soot.
